BudapestGO pass holders can use MOL Bubi ten times a month free of charge

Budapest, 30 September 2026 – BKK is introducing a new discount for passengers travelling with BudapestGO passes valid for at least 30 days: from 28 September 2026, users can claim MOL Bubi vouchers entitling them to 30 minutes’ free use. The discount provides ten free rides per month on classic bikes. The MOL Bubi network has been expanded with more than 400 new Mobi-points since mid-September, and this expansion will continue over the coming months.

The aim of the discount is to make it easier for public transport users to use the public bike-sharing service during their daily journeys. From 28 September, holders of valid monthly, quarterly or annual MOL Bubi Passes purchased via the app can claim MOL Bubi vouchers, which allow them to use MOL Bubi bikes free of charge ten times a month.

After registering, users will receive ten vouchers, each entitling them to a journey of up to 30 minutes, for use on classic MOL Bubi bikes. Holders of quarterly passes will receive a monthly voucher pack for three consecutive months, whilst annual pass holders will receive them for twelve months. Users will receive the vouchers by email and can use them for 30 days from the date of registration for riding classic MOL Bubi bikes.

More than 400 new Mobi-points

In line with earlier plans, BKK is gradually integrating Mobi-points into the MOL Bubi service: as a first step, from 15 September, more than 400 Mobi-points have become available to public bike users. Thanks to the denser network of stations, in many places there is now a station where public bikes can be picked up or dropped off every 100–150 metres, instead of the previous typical distance of 300–400 metres. This makes MOL Bubi even more flexible for short urban journeys.

According to BKK’s plans, the expansion will continue: this autumn, a further 400 Mobi-points may be added to the network, and by early 2027, it will be possible to pick up and return bikes at a total of more than 1,100 locations across the Hungarian capital. Decisions on future expansions will be made on the basis of experience, usage data and consultations with the municipality and the districts.
