Budapest, 13 January 2026 – Due to snow-related disruptions affecting air traffic across Europe, several flights are expected to arrive at Liszt Ferenc International Airport late at night. In response to the extraordinary situation, BKK Centre for Budapest Transport is increasing public transport capacity between the airport and the city to help passengers reach their destinations safely and reliably.
BKK is continuously monitoring air traffic at Budapest Airport and, where necessary, adjusting the timetables of the 100E Airport Express and the 200E bus services in line with passenger demand.
Recent winter weather conditions have caused flight cancellations and delays at several European airports. As a result, a higher-than-usual number of late-night arrivals is expected in Budapest.
To accommodate the increased passenger flow, during the night of 13–14 January 2026, BKK will operate additional services on both airport bus lines, scheduled to match arriving flights. The 100E Airport Express provides a direct connection to the city centre, while the 200E bus connects to the M3 metro line at Kőbánya-Kispest and, after metro operating hours, to night bus services at Határ út.
Real-time information and easy ticket purchase
Information on additional departures will be available on FUTÁR passenger information displays at the airport and in the BudapestGO application, which BKK recommends to passengers arriving in Budapest. Tickets and passes can be purchased from ticket vending machines at the airport or conveniently via the BudapestGO app.
BKK continues to monitor traffic conditions and will take further action if necessary to ensure smooth and reliable late-night travel from the airport to the city.
