Transport on 24 December, Christmas Eve
On 24 December, the lines will run according to the Saturday schedule in the morning and during the day. On Christmas Eve, as in previous years, the last daytime street-level lines will depart from their terminus stations between 15:00 and 16:00, but the metro lines providing transport to the city centre will run until 18:00, later than the other daytime lines. Due to the earlier closing times of larger shopping centres in the suburbs, lines will typically make their last stops at the shopping centres between 13:30 and 14:30, with the exception of bus 22, which will continue to serve them until the last scheduled departure.
After the last scheduled departure of the daytime lines, between 16:00 and 18:00, you can travel by metro and night bus. Certain night buses run on modified routes to ensure connections to the metro.
After 18:00, when the metro is no longer running, all night bus services will run their full routes. Suburban railways crossing the Budapest administrative boundaries (H5, H6, H8 and H9) will run until the last scheduled departure, late into the evening, but with less frequent service.
The last metros depart from their terminuses as follows:
Metro line M1:
