How long is the Budapest Card valid for?
The Budapest Card is valid for 24, 48, 72, 96, or 120 hours, depending on the selected type.

Where can I buy a Tourist pass or e-XPLORER pass?
Tourist Pass and e-XPLORER pass cards will no longer be sold from 1 July 2025. If you have previously purchased such a card, you can of course use it within its validity period until 30 April 2026. I have a previously purchased Tourist Pass / e-XPLORER pass. What discounts can I get with it?
Tourist Pass and e-XPLORER pass cards will no longer be sold from 1 July 2025. If you have previously purchased such a card, you can of course use it within its validity period. Can I skip lines with the Budapest Card?
No, the Budapest Card does not include skip-the-line access.
Can I share the Budapest Card with someone else?
No, the Budapest Card is for individual use only and cannot be shared or transferred. Each card must include the cardholder’s name and the number of a valid photo ID (passport or national ID), which must be presented during inspections.
Is there a children’s version of the Budapest Card?
No, there is no separate Budapest Card for children.

No, this is not a problem. When redeeming your voucher for a physical card at a redemption point, you can write the ID number of the person who will use the card.

Are taxis in Budapest reliable?
Yes, taxis in Budapest are reliable, as long as you choose an official provider.
There are a number of taxi companies and independent taxi firms operating in Budapest. Please only get into a qualified, licensed taxi. We recommend that you order a taxi using an app or by phone. Budapest taxis have standardised signage: the cars are yellow with the words "qualified Budapest taxi/minősített budapesti taxi" on the left-side front door, the number plates are yellow, and the dashboard and the two rear doors display a table of fixed official taxi fares.
- Payment: both cash and bank cards are accepted.
- Tip: when taking a taxi from the airport or city center, check official taxi companies in advance.
How can I get from the airport to the city center?
There are several ways to get from Liszt Ferenc International Airport to the city center:
🚌 100E Airport Express Bus – Direct service to Deák Ferenc Square, can be used with a special ticket.
🚌 200E Bus + M3 Metro – Take the 200E bus to Kőbánya-Kispest metro station, then transfer to the M3 metro to reach the city center.
🚐 miniBUD shuttle – A convenient shared shuttle service that takes you directly to your accommodation.
🚖 Taxi – The official airport taxi partner is Főtaxi, offering fixed fares to downtown Budapest.

No, the 100E Airport Express Bus is not included in the Budapest Card. This direct bus service runs between Liszt Ferenc International Airport and Deák Ferenc Square, and a separate ticket is required. More details here.

Can I get to the airport for free with the Budapest Card?
Yes, the Budapest Card includes free public transport, so you can take the 200E bus from Kőbánya-Kispest metro station to reach Liszt Ferenc International Airport.

If you are a private individual, you can redeem your unactivated voucher that has not been converted to a physical card within 14 calendar days of purchase. If you decide to withdraw from the purchase and do not redeem your Budapest Card voucher, you must declare your intention to withdraw by filling in the form available here. Please send the completed form to budapestcardbkk.hu . We will then refund you the amount charged to the bank details of the credit card used for purchase within 30 days of being informed of the cancellation.
