The UEFA Champions League Final 2026 will take place in Budapest on Saturday, 30 May. During the final and the related events, public transport is the easiest way to get around the city. Budapest has an extensive public transport network with frequent services across the city.

🎟️ Free travel in Budapest for ticket holders between 29 and 31 May

Ticket holders can take advantage of free travel on all public transport services within the administrative boundaries of Budapest between 29 and 31 May. (Except the Zugliget Chairlift and the Buda Castle Funicular.) Please be prepared to present your match ticket to public transport staff upon request. Free travel applies during the operational hours of each service on 29, 30 and 31 May.

Valid tickets are required on all public transport services in Budapest if you travel before 29 May or after 31 May. Tickets must be purchased and validated before travelling. You can find more information about travelling in Budapest and ticket types here.

 

⚠️ Increased passenger traffic is expected across the city on matchday

Especially around:

  • Puskás Aréna, the venue of the final,
  • the Champions Festival at Heroes’ Square,
  • the Arsenal Fan Meeting Point at Városligeti Nagyrét,
  • and the PSG Fan Meeting Point at MTK Sportpark.

 

 

Arrive early

Metro stations and surrounding streets may become crowded before kick-off. Recommended arrival: at least 2 hours before the match.

Night transport services will help fans travel home or to the airport after the match. Metro services operate until 1 AM. Tram line 6, and the airport shuttle buses (100E and 200E) run 24/7. . If you are travelling from the Fan Meeting Points, Champions Express buses to the Airport operates until 6AM.

🛬 Champions Express bus service from the Airport to the Fan Meeting Points or the city center on matchday

Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport [BUD] is Hungary’s major international airport, located 25km southeast of the city centre.

 

Getting to the Fan Meeting Points or the city centre:⃣

Option 1.

🚏 A direct bus service – 100E – operates between the airport and the city centre. Ticket holders can take advantage of free travel between 29 May and 31 May. Travelling outside these dates, you must purchase a specific ticket to use this service.

🚍 Hop on the Champions Express bus service between the airport and Fan Meeting Point Arsenal / Fan Meeting Point PSG, running on matchday from 8:00. This will take you directly to the Fan Meeting Points.

 

Option 2.

🚏 Alternatively, take the 200E bus service to Kőbánya-Kispest, then transfer to the M3 for city centre locations. Ticket holders can take advantage of free travel between 29 May and 31 May. Travelling outside these dates, valid BKK tickets or travel cards must be purchased.

 

🛬 From the airport to the city centre on non-matchdays

Option 1.

Airport Express bus 100E is in operation between Liszt Ferenc International Airport and Deák Ferenc tér. The bus service operates around the clock. Before 29 May or after 31 May bus 100E is only available with an Airport shuttlebus single ticket (2500 HUF). (Persons over 65 can travel free of charge.) You can buy your airport shuttle bus single ticket with your bankcard using the on-board Budapest Pay&GO device and it is also available in the Budapest GO app.

 

From here, use the following connections:

Option 2.

🚏 Alternatively, take the 200E bus service to Kőbánya-Kispest, then transfer to the M3 for city centre locations. It operates 24 hours a day. Before 29 May or after 31 May on non-matchdays, valid BKK tickets or travel cards must be purchased.

You have several options to get your ticket, pass or travelcard:

  • You can buy your airport shuttlebus single ticket with your bankcard using the on-board Budapest Pay&GO device or you can get a single ticket with the help of the Budapest Pay&GO device mounted by the entrances to the stations of the M1, M2, M3, M4 metro.
  • At any time of the day, around the clock, from BKK ticket vending machines with cash or a bankcard. You can find our points of sales on the map here.
  • You can find our Customer Service Centres and Ticket Offices at more points in the city (for example at the airport as well), where maps and other brochures are also available.

🎟️ Find the best public transport fare if you travel before 29 May or after 31 May

  • A single ticket is valid for one journey on one vehicle without interruption. One transfer is allowed on metro lines in a single direction. Price: 500 HUF. It is important to validate your ticket before starting your trip or immediately after boarding before the vehicle departs. Please read some useful advice here.
  • The 24-hour Budapest-travelcard (2,750 HUF) and the 72-hour Budapest-travelcard (5,750 HUF) allow unlimited travel for 24 or 72 hours from the start of validity.
  • In addition to free public transport, the Budapest Card also gives you free or discounted access to many of Budapest’s attractions. The card is available with 24-, 48-, 72- and 96-hour validity. More information is available here.
