Project name: LEAD (Low-Emission Adaptive last mile logistics supporting 'on Demand economy' through Digital Twins)
Duration: 01/06/2020 - 30/09/2023
Description
Long-term vision of the LEAD project is to create such an open, Physical Internet (PI)-based framework to the different city logistic smart solutions, which could be the basis for the bigger, entire city-sized Digital Twins on the basis of the local Digital Twin established during the project.
LEAD project will create Digital Twins of urban logistics networks in six cities (Madrid, Hague, Budapest, Lyon, Oslo and Porto), which help the development of decision-making mechanism of on-demand logistic processes. By examining case studies and value models, we seek such innovative city logistic solutions, which - by taking into account the on-demand economic requirements - create values to different stakeholders the way that in the meanwhile, as far as possible, they also harmonise competing interests. We examine cost-environmental and operational efficiency of the value models also in the framework of the “Living Lab” type of open innovation environment in participating cities.
Among others, BKK is in charge of the examination of urban, on-demand freight services in Budapest and also in Hungary in the project in cooperation with the Győr-based Széchenyi István University and Waberer's-Szemerey Logistics Ltd. - as per different scenarios- through modelling and also the development of the freight layer of the Macroscopic Transport Model.
