This year’s Sziget Festival will take place between 6 and 11 August 2025 on Óbuda Island in Budapest. To reach the venue as quickly as possible, suburban railway line (HÉV) H5 operates more frequently during the day and it also runs at night. With the Budapest Card, you can explore the Hungarian capital city easily and cost-effectively, and use Budapest public transport free of charge.

How to get to the Sziget Festival
The quickest way to reach Sziget by public transport is to take suburban railway line H5 to Filatorigát station. For a more convenience, HÉV trains run more frequently than usual and also operate at night between Batthyány tér and Aquincum stations.
This is how you can access suburban railway line H5 from different parts of Budapest:
- from the airport, take the 100E Airport Express (special fares apply) to Deák Ferenc tér, and from there take the M2 metro to Batthyány tér station
- from the city centre, from Déli or Keleti railway stations, take metro line M2 to Batthyány tér station
- from the Nyugati train station, take tram 4 or 6 to the Margit híd, budai hídfő stop
- from South Buda, take tram 19 or 41 to Batthyány tér station
- from Árpád híd long-distance bus station or Népliget bus station, take tram line 1 to Szentlélek tér
- from the Puskás Ferenc Stadion bus station, take metro M2 to Batthyány tér station or tram 1 to Szentlélek tér.
Buses on lines 901, 918 and 934 will run with increased capacity during the festival. It is also important to note that bus line 226 will operate on a modified route between Nyugati Railway Station and Aquincum, bypassing Óbuda Island, and that night bus line 943 will be out of service during the extended capacity and operating hours of the HÉV suburban railway.
If you're arriving to Sziget by MOL Bubi public bike, you'll want to cycle to the Kórház utca-Polgár utca or Szentlélek tér bicycle station, both of which are near the venue. Don’t forget to lock your bike and check in the app that your ride is in finished status!
