Transport services in Budapest on Hungary's National Holiday, 23 October

23 October is Hungary's national holiday. On this day, Hungarians commemorate the outbreak of the 1956 Revolution and War of Independence. Commemorations and demonstrations will be held across the city to mark the national holiday: in the afternoon of 22 October at the University of Technology, followed by a march to Bem József tér; and on 23 October in the morning at Kossuth Lajos tér and in the afternoon and early evening at Margit körút. Due to the closures related to the events, the operation of the affected BKK lines will also change: several trams and buses will run on modified routes on the holiday.
