From 5 March 2026, the green public bikes will disappear from the streets for a short time, while we work intensively behind the scenes to get everything ready for the launch of the new Bubi.
The brand new Bubi bikes – at least 5,000 in total, including 1,000 e-bikes – will roll in by June 2026 at the latest. The expanding fleet not only means greater capacity, but also that Bubi will reach parts of the city where it was not previously available. With 5,000 new bikes, the system will cover a significantly larger area, making it a convenient, green transport alternative for even more Budapest residents.
During the transition period:
👉 we are preparing to put the completely new fleet and equipment into service
👉 we are completing the evaluation of the pilot period that has been ongoing since the end of December 2025
👉 and we are preparing for the launch of one of the largest micromobility developments in the country
