Please note! From 1 July 2026, significant changes have applied to the way parking fees are paid. The use of parking meters will be discontinued; instead, parking fees can only be paid via a mobile application, by text message or by calling. You can read more about the new payment options in the Frequently Asked Questions section, under the heading ‘How do I pay the fee?’.
In public spaces of Budapest (i.e. not in privately owned garages or on private land, but on roads, streets and squares), you must pay for parking in the areas marked on the map below. This requirement applies to all passenger cars, three- or four-wheeled motorbikes, three- or four-wheeled mopeds, campervans and goods vehicles weighing less than 3.5 tonnes.
There are four parking zones in Budapest, designated by the letters A, B, C and D. The maps below show the location of each zone, as well as the
- per-hour parking charges,
- the period during which parking is subject to a charge, and
- the maximum permitted duration of chargeable parking.
Information on the parking zones in each district and details relating to a specific zone, such as the zone code, zone type, payment period, hourly parking fee, time limit and landowner, can be found in detail in the downloadable ‘Parking Zones’ document at the bottom of this subpage.
