Travelcards and passes can be purchased in advance, but a 30-day pre-purchase restriction applies to the products listed below if their validity extends partially or fully to 2025.
If the start day of validity for the listed products is later than the dates shown below, then the products are purchasable only up to 30 days before the start of validity.
This means that if the start day of validity is not later than the dates below, then the product can be purchased in advance without any restriction:

The validity period of passes expires at 2:00 in the morning after the indicated last day of validity. If only these 2 hours extend to 2025, the advance purchase restriction does not apply.
Semester passes valid from September go on sale in August and September, while passes valid from February are purchasable in January and February.
The discounted annual Budapest-pass, suburban railway tickets and suburban railway tour tickets can be purchased up to 30 days in advance of the start of validity. The “Annual Budapest-pass (business)” is valid from the month of purchase, but from the 26th day of the current month onwards, only passes valid from the following month can be purchased.
Advance purchase of the 24-hour, 72-hour, 15-day Budapest-passes and Monthly Budapest-passes in the mobile app is possible up to 30 days before the start day of validity.
