What is included in this Card?
If this is your first time visiting the Hungarian capital, then we recommend the Budapest Card for you.
- During the validity period, i.e. for 24 hours, you can use almost all public transport within the city limits of Budapest completely free of charge – whether it's buses, trams, metro, trolleybuses, suburban railways (HÉV), or trains, the city card is valid on all.

Which public transport services are free if you have a Budapest Card?
- Within the administrative boundaries of Budapest almost all BKK services and suburban buses (lines 1-99, 101-299, 900-999, M1, M2, M3, M4, D14), HÉV suburban railway lines H5, H6, H7, H8, H9,
- trains of MÁV in 2nd class (except on trains with supplementary charges, but if the journey is only within Budapest, you can take any train and you do not need to pay a seat reservation),
- selected suburban buses by VOLÁN.
How does the Budapest Card work?
The card is valid from the date indicated on the card until the period you choose. To enjoy free entries and discounts, simply present your pass when purchasing tickets or entering partner attractions across Budapest.
Validity period
It is valid for 24 hours started from the indicated beginning point of time (month, day, hour, minute).
Official required ID to use the Budapest Card
The passport or photo ID card number of the person using the card and the start of validity (date and time) must appear on the card. Corrections cannot be made on the card because it renders the card invalid.
Is it transferable?
The card is personalised and non-transferable.
