The service change is due to the refurbishment of the metro building and the construction of the station supervisor’s room. The metro station is accessible by tram and bus lines departing from Déli pályaudvar and also by bus group 22 from Batthyány tér running on an extended route between Budakeszi and Batthyány tér M+H metro and suburban railway stations.

Access to Széll Kálmán tér on 15, 16 and 17 January

Passengers headed to Széll Kálmán tér coming by metro from Örs vezér tere are advised by BKK to travel to Déli pályaudvar and to reach Széll Kálmán tér by the following bus and tram services:

  • Bus lines 21, 21A, 39, 102, 139, 140-140A and 142 between Déli pályaudvar M and Széll Kálmán tér M
  • If you prefer trams:
    • on Friday 15 January, tram lines 18, 59 or 61 between Déli pályaudvar M and Széll Kálmán tér M are recommended
    • on Saturday-Sunday, 16-17 January, the interconnected tram network in Buda will be operational and already serve this route, so tram lines 17, 56A, 59 and 61 will provide access instead of the metro

Passengers headed to Hűvösvölgy coming by metro from Örs vezér tere are advised to travel to Déli pályaudvar and transfer to tram line 61.

During 15, 16 and 17 January 2016, lines of bus group 22 run on an extended route to Batthyány tér M+H from their Budakeszi terminuses. Therefore, for those passengers going from Örs vezér tere to Budakeszi, it is recommended to use metro line M2 to Batthyány tér from where they can transfer to bus lines 22, 22A and 222 operating on an extended route. For those passengers who wish to travel by metro line M2 from Déli pályaudvar M to Széll Kálmán tér, it is recommended to use the previously-detailed tram and bus lines running on this section, instead of metro line M2.

Please board the lines of bus group 22 running on the extended route to Batthyány tér M+H on the Margit körút side of Széll Kálmán tér, next to the terminus of tram lines 4 and 6, at the terminus of bus group 22.
