Changes affecting pedestrians

Pedestrian traffic is unaffected during this period.

Public road restrictions

From 8 January 2016 Várfok utca will be opened to Széll Kálmán tér while a section of Csaba utca will be turned into a pedestrian zone

From Friday, 8 January 2016, the section of Várfok utca between Vérmező út and the square will be temporarily opened to Széll Kálmán tér while the section of Csaba utca between Krisztina körút and Várfok utca will be permanently turned into a pedestrian zone.

Traffic restrictions are planned from Sunday afternoon, on 10 January 2016 and expected to last until Wednesday, 10 February at the junction of Krisztina körút and Csaba utca due to utility-related construction works. Two diverted lanes will be open in each direction on Krisztina körút during the different work phases.

Changes affecting cyclists

We kindly ask cyclists to use the bypasses during the reconstruction of Széll Kálmán tér.

The area will be accessible for cyclists from the spring of 2016.

Recommended bicycle path north of the square:
Szilágyi Erzsébet fasor (Városmajor)–Retek utca–Széna tér

Recommended bicycle path south of the square:
Szilágyi Erzsébet fasor (Városmajor)–Ignotus utca–Csaba utca–Hajnóczy József utca–Vérmező
