Changes in the service of trams 4 and 6 between 1–3 August

Service on the lines of trams 4 and 6 between 00:00 and 04:00 on 1 and on 3 August

Between 00:00 and 04:00 on 1 and on 3 August 2015 (Saturday and Monday) tram 6 is replaced by tram replacement bus 6 on the entire length of its route along Grand Boulevard.

Tram replacement bus 6 follows the route of the tram from Széll Kálmán tér M terminus to Móricz Zsigmond körtér M serving the stops below:

  • Széll Kálmán tér M: the temporary stop of buses 155 and 156 on the Margit körút side of Széll Kálmán tér,
  • Széna tér: the stop of night bus 960,
  • Mechwart liget: the stop of trams 4 and 6 in the opposite direction,
  • Margit híd, budai hídfő H: the stop of trams 4 and 6,
  • Margitsziget/Margit híd: on the bridge in front of the entrance of the island,

The service of trams 4 and 6 from 04:00 on 1 August until 24:00 on 2 August

From 04:00 on August 1 (Saturday) until 24:00 on 2 August 2015 (Sunday) trams 4 and 6 run on shortened routes from their South Buda terminuses (tram 4: Újbuda-központ M, tram 6: Móricz Zsigmond M) to Széna tér. Considering the closeness of Széll Kálmán tér no replacement bus is operating on the skipped section. The square and the metro station are accessible on foot along the tram track then via the pedestrian crossing provided with traffic lights.

The service of trams 4 and 6 from 04:00 on 3 August

From 04:00 on 3 August 2015 (Monday) trams 4 and 6 run on the entire length of their routes again. From this day the Combinos serve the terminus on the Margit körút side of Széll Kálmán tér again, already on refurbished track. Further construction works not influencing the traffic are carried out in the following weeks at the area of the new terminus provided with modern top and pavement, already evoking the new design of the square.

Changes in the service of the buses serving Széll Kálmán tér from 1 and from 3 August

From 1 August 2015 (Saturday) the Széll Kálmán tér stop of buses 39 to Goldmark Károly utca, 155 to Zugliget and 156 to Dániel út is relocated 50 metres further down the street, closer to Széna tér.

From 3 August 2015 (Monday) the service of buses 16, 16A and 916 is not modified during this phase of the reconstruction. However, the route of bus 116 to Fény utca market is modified, reaching its terminus from Várfok utca via Vérmező út–Széna tér–Margit körút–Bakfark Bálint utca–Varsányi Irén utca–Széna tér–Margit körút–Széll Kálmán tér–Dékán utca–Retek utca, also serving Széll Kálmán tér at the following stops:

  • in Várfok utca before turning to Vérmező út, then
  • at the stop of bus 39 on Margit körút, before turning to Dékán utca.

From 3 August 2015 (Monday) the Széll Kálmán tér M terminus of buses 21, 21A, 139, 140 and 140A is relocated to the Vérmező side of Várfok utca, between Csaba utca and the document office. The nearest stop to Csaba utca is served by buses 21 and 21A, the stop behind is served by buses 140 and 140A, while the third one is served by bus 139.

From 3 August 2015 (Monday) the Széll Kálmán tér terminus of night bus 922 is relocated to the temporary terminus of buses 22, 22A and 222 at junction of Dékán utca and Széll Kálmán tér. The Csaba utca terminus is not affected by the works of the present phase.

During the construction phase starting on 3 August 2015 the service of the following buses does not change:
