On 9 May (Saturday) and 10 (Sunday) 2015, reconstruction works will be carried out in Dékán utca at the intersection of Széll Kálmán tér in relation to the refurbishment works of Széll Kálmán tér, therefore the traffic lane will be accessible in Dékán utca only in the direction of Fény utca. During the above-mentioned weekend, only one lane will be open to traffic in the direction of Fény utca. For passengers going from Fillér utca, it is recommended to detour Dékán utca on the route section Ezredes utca- Szilágyi Erzsébet fasor-Széll Kálmán tér.

Due to the one-lane access of Dékán utca, the route of buses 116 and 149 running in that area will be modified, as follows:

  • In the direction of Dísz tér, bus 116 will run on a modified route from the Fény utcai piac stop to Várfok utca via Retek utca–Fillér utca–Ezredes utca–Szilágyi Erzsébet fasor–Széll Kálmán tér–Krisztina körút–Vérmező út and from Várfok utca it will run on its original route. Due to the diverted route, the Dékán utca stop will not be served. In the direction of Fény utcai piac (‘’market in Fény utca”), bus 116 will run on its original route.
  • Bus 149 running to Széll Kálmán tér will run on its original route from the Fenyves utca terminus to Fillér utca at the intersection of Ezredes utca from where it will run on a modified route to Széll Kálmán tér via Ezredes utca and Szilágyi Erzsébet fasor. Due to the diverted route, the Dékán utca stop will not be served. In the direction of Fenyves utca, the route of bus 149 will not be modified. Due to the traffic restriction, buses with smaller room capacity will be running on the route of bus 149. Therefore, to provide convenient travel for BKK’s customers, bus 149 will run more frequently: during the daytime on Saturday, bus 149 will run every 7-8 minutes instead of 10-15 minutes, while on Sunday bus 149 will run every 10 minutes instead of 15 minutes. Passengers going from Rózsadomb to Fény utcai piac, neither change nor walking will be required- however they may have to wait a few minutes- to reach the market, in case they will not get off the bus at the Széll Kálmán tér M terminus.

New pedestrian and public road traffic alignment applies from the weekend of 18–19 April at Széll Kálmán tér

From the weekend of 18–19 April a new traffic alignment applies to Széll Kálmán tér, affecting pedestrians and motorists as the refurbishment of the square and the construction of the interconnected tram network in Buda continues. From Saturday the pedestrian path leading to Széll Kálmán tér from the Káplár utca temporary terminus of tram 61 will be modified due to pavement and track construction, furthermore the road traffic of Margit körút between Széll Kálmán tér and Széna tér will be modified as well due to track and public utility refurbishment. From Sunday the road traffic of the carriageway leading to Krisztina körút from Margit körút, and of the junction of Szilágyi Erzsébet fasor and Széll Kálmán tér will change. The Széll Kálmán tér M (Csaba utca) stop of buses 5, 91, 116, 956, 960 and 990 to Déli pályaudvar will be temporarily reinstated to its previous location ahead of the intersection of Csaba utca and Krisztina körút. This stop is also served by buses 39 and 102. The throughput capacity of the square will not be decreased by the new traffic alignment. The refurbishment of Széll Kálmán tér has started in January 2015 and is expected to be finished by spring 2016.

From the first departures on Sunday, 19 April 2015, the Széll Kálmán tér M (Csaba utca) stops of buses 5, 91, 116, 956, 960 and 990 to Déli pályaudvar will be temporarily relocated to the original site on Krisztina körút ahead of the intersection with Csaba utca, due to the new traffic alignment at the intersection of Krisztina körút and Csaba utca. Buses 39 and 102 will also serve this stop again.
