What are the rules for using this fare product?

It is valid for 120 hours from the indicated start date and time (month, day, hour, minute) for an unlimited number of trips.

 

For what services is this fare product valid?

Valid on BKK’s services as well as on regional bus lines and on suburban railways free and for unlimited travel within the administrative boundaries of Budapest (on lines 1-99, 101-299, 900-999, M1, M2, M3, M4, H5, H6, H7, H8, H9 as well as on boat line D14) and it is also accepted for one free roundtrip ride on the Chairlift in the Zugliget area of the Buda Hills operated by the Budapest Transport Company (BKV).

The valid Budapest Card also includes a single journey on regular heritage tram services running on routes along the Danube between May and October.

In addition to free public transport, several other services are offered through the card, such as free and discounted entry to museums and thermal baths as well as discounted meals and cultural events. For more information, please visit budapest-card.com.

Official required ID to use the Budapest Card

There are currently two types of cards in circulation, one validated by the signature of the person using the card and the other validated by the passport or photo ID card number of the person using the card. The start of validity (date and time) and the signature of the tourist must appear on the card. A card signed with an overwritten, corrected or illegible name is invalid and cannot be used.

 

Is it transferable?

The card is personalised and non-transferable.
