Changes in public road and pedestrian traffic from 7 July

Due to public utility works lanes are diverted on Margit körút between Széna tér and Dékán utca from the evening of 7 July 2015 (Tuesday). The number and the arrangement of the lanes however remain unchanged:

  • on the route section between Széna tér and Széll Kálmán tér only one lane can be used per direction;
  • still use both lanes can be used on the route section of Margit körút ahead of Dékán utca towards Krisztina körút;
  • still only one lane can be used towards Széna tér;
  • while Dékán utca remains accessible from every direction.

During the works on the odd side of Margit körút pedestrian traffic is ensured, however pedestrians have to pass through several temporarily narrowed sections over the pits.

Changes in public transport from 11 July until early morning on 13 July

Transport on tram lines 4 and 6 between 04:00 on Saturday and 24:00 on Sunday

From 04:00 on 11 July 2015 (Saturday) until 24:00 on 12 July 2015 (Sunday) trams 4 and 6 run on a shortened route (tram 4 from Újbuda-Központ M terminus, tram 6 from Móricz Zsigmond körtér M terminus) only to Széna tér. Considering the closeness of Széll Kálmán tér BKK does not operate replacement bus service on the skipped route section. This weekend the square and the metro station are accessible on foot along the track than via a temporary pedestrian crossing provided with traffic lights.

Transport on the line of trams 4 and 6 during Friday and Sunday night

Between 00:00 and 04:00 on 11 July 2015 (Saturday) and on 13 July 2015 (Monday) tram 6 is out of service. Tram replacement bus 6 operates instead on the entire length of the line.

Replacement bus 6 runs on the same route as the tram from the Széll Kálmán tér M terminus to Móricz Zsigmond körtér M and serves the following stops:

  • Széll Kálmán tér M: temporary stop of buses 155 and 156 on the Margit körút side of Széll Kálmán tér
  • Széna tér: stop of night bus 960
  • Mechwart liget: stop of trams 4 and 6 in the opposite direction
  • Margit híd, budai hídfő H: stop of trams 4 and 6
  • Margitsziget/Margit híd: on the bridge ahead of the access road to Margitsziget
  • Jászai Mari tér: stop of buses 9, 26, 91, 191 and 226
  • Nyugati pályaudvar M: temporary stop of buses 914, 914A, 923, 931 and 950
  • Aradi utca (Oktogon M): stop of bus 923
  • Király utca/Erzsébet körút: stop of trams 4 and 6
  • Wesselényi utca/Erzsébet körút: stop of trams 4 and 6
