PERSONS ENTITLED TO TRAVEL FREE OF CHARGE CERTIFICATE TO BE SHOWN
Children under the age of 6 or until the child begins school if accompanied by an adult Any personal identification document

One accompanying person of the listed persons in the previous 3 points (blind, deaf and disabled, or persons getting higher family allowance) In addition to the certificate of the accompanied person, the accompanying person does not need any document, but the entitlement to travel free of charge is only valid together with the accompanied person!

PERSONS ENTITLED TO PENSIONER PASS (up to the day before turning 65) CERTIFICATE TO BE SHOWN
Persons under the age of 65 who receive pension in their own right and persons belonging to this legal category (Act LXXX/1997 Article 4.f.) Certificate (e.g. pensioners’ travel voucher) issued by the pension fund or the institution paying the allowance and a photo ID.

Guardians and persons under guardianship, wards and persons under wardship irrespective of their age can share travel certificates marked ‘GY’, ‘GYÁM’ or ‘GO’, thus both guardians and persons under the care of a guardian  are entitled to use pensioner’s pass photo IDs. ).

Persons receiving pension on account of a relative (widow’s pension, orphan’s allowance, parent’s pension, pension of a relative of a person killed in accident)
Persons born before 1 January 1955 who had received early pension before 31 December 2011 (Act CLXVII/2011 Article 1.c.)
Persons receiving invalidity pension class I. or II. on 31 December 2011
Persons receiving invalidity pension with an ability rate of under 30% according to the complex classification system of the rehabilitation authority
Persons born before 1 January 1955 receiving invalidity pension class III. on 31 December 2011.

Guardians and persons under guardianship, wards and persons under wardship
Spouse (partner) of the persons listed above – with the exception of the guardians and persons under the care of a guardian – if he/she is above the age limit of the old-age pension Pensioner pass certificate is issued by showing the Pensioner’s or disabled person’s above mentioned certificate and the ID card of the spouse (partner).
Persons receiving regular social allowance or availability allowance, wage replacement allowance if unemployed Certificate from the notary
PERSONS ENTITLED TO STUDENT PASS (Higher education) CERTIFICATE TO BE SHOWN
Students attending regular or evening courses Valid student ID or certificate according to Government Decree 36/2011
Students attending regular or evening courses based on Act LXII/2001 (on Hungarians Living in Neighbouring Countries) A validating sticker in the Annex of “Hungarian certificate”, or “Hungarian dependent certificate”
Students from EU, EEA Member States or Switzerland attending regular or evening courses in these states Hungarian student ID, student ID issued in one of these  states OR international student ID OR in case of foreign schoolchildren under 16 : passport or personal ID.

If you want to prove your status as a student of a school in Hungary, only the Hungarian student ID is acceptable.

PERSONS ENTITLED TO PUPIL PASS (Primary and secondary education) CERTIFICATE TO BE SHOWN
Pupils attending regular or evening courses Valid Hungarian student ID: both the ID type  without a validation sticker and the type requiring a sticker for the school year are accepted. Student IDs are valid without a sticker  until 31 October of the year following the school year in which the pupil exceeds the upper limit of the mandatory school age. Persons  having the freedom of movement and residence can use pupil passes in possession of a valid Hungarian student ID. Pupils without a student ID need a school certificate according to Government Decree 362/2011 (XII. 30.)
Foreign citizens of Hungarian nationality studying in Hungary in regular or evening courses based on Act LXII/2001 (on Hungarians Living in Neighbouring Countries)
Persons who have the freedom of movement and residence who attend primary or secondary schools which are located in an EU or EEA state or another state the citizens of which are in the same legal position concerning the freedom of movement and residence based on international agreements between that state and the member states of the EU and the EEA.
PERSONS ENTITLED TO PASS FOR PARENTS WITH SMALL CHILDREN CERTIFICATE TO BE SHOWN
Persons with a residential address in Budapest who receive child home care allowance (GYES, GYET, GYED or TGYÁS)

Official certificate on permanent or temporary residence and an original copy of the certification or decision of the right to child care allowance issued by the social insurance disbursement agency, which is not older than 6 months. In case of GYED and TGYÁS every agency has to be in possession of a seal which includes the following data: name, registration number and the agency label. The shape of the seal is variable but the mandatory data must be shown in the following order: (1) TÁRSADALOMBIZTOSÍTÁSI KIFIZETŐHELY (agency label) (2) Name, Address of the company (3) Registration number. No certificates are valid without the seal.
