New pier on Margaret Island, more frequent departures and summer schedule of public transport boat services

Public transport boat lines in Budapest now operate according to an improved summer schedule which includes higher service frequency and longer operating hours. A new pier has been opened on Margaret island (Margitsziget). Boat lines D11 and D12 sail every 30 minutes on the section of the river Danube in the city centre on weekdays and at weekends alike.

Public transport boat line D12 now serves a new pier on Margaret Island: the “Margitsziget Szabadtéri Színpad és Víztorony” (Open-Air Stage and Water Tower) pier is situated on the side of the island facing Pest. The new pier is served once an hour by boats coming from the south that terminate at the island.

Boats also operate more frequently during the busy summer season: departures are every 30 minutes on both weekdays and weekends on the section of the river in the city centre, while the full route is served every hour. Also, the first departures in the morning are earlier; the last evening departures are later than in the spring schedule. The summer schedule is planned to be in place until the end of August.
